Thursday Birdblogging
Sorry, birders, but today is Lame Duck day.
Of course, ducks often stand on one leg, but this one doesn't seem to be doing that. So we wish it well, but this mallard seems to have a tough row to hoe. We wish the lame duck in the White House the same.

For quite a while now, George Bush has been a duck so lame as to forever redefine the possibilities of physically challenged waterfowl. And McCain, even more, was a lame duck before he was even elected to office.
Watching wide swathes of conservative opinion distancing themselves from those two has been a treat and a half, after all those years of lockstep discipline.
"Lockstep" is harder when you're lame, I'm sure you are aware.
The day can't come soon enough when the foul George "Daffy" Bush migrates back to Crawford.
