Thursday Birdblogging
Very small and quite common, this is one of those L'il Brown Birds that you may never notice. I had them pointed out in the Rocky Mountain National Park by the guides on my bird walk. Nice little brown bird, I usually look right beyond them to find those flashier types.
Among Fun Facts from our friends at Cornell, I find that the pine siskin is gregarious, nests in colonies, and visit each other's nests except when incubating. Now that's downhome behavior.

Cute!!
I'll get Siskins at my feeders if we have an extended cold snap. During a warm winter they seem to be satisfied elsewhere.
