I grew red honeysuckle when we lived in Southeast Kansas. It spread like wildfire, had a wonderful scent, and the bees partied all day long.
These are totally brought in by the birds. I love them and have seen them cultivated but don't know how they got to be red. Had big streamers of the white stuff everywhere in Virginia.
What a lovely back yard! I have the red honeysuckle also, but my husband called it "coral honeysuckle" when he planted it. It's beautiful, but is now being dwarfed by a Lady Banksia rose bush that is getting out of control.
