our interests

No caps, because our interests are being ignored, they are not news.

The constitution that set up this country, that gave it greatness, is being shredded. What are our interests? Invented threats in the Middle East seem to be what this worst administration ever can see as the same. We cannot negotiate with these unfriendlies, according to the occupied White House, so we threaten.

Iran conducted a second day of high-profile missile tests today, as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned the Islamic republic that it would defend Israel or other allies in the region from any attack.

Citing broadcasts on state-run Iranian television, the Associated Press reported out of Tehran that the country had continued an ongoing military exercise in the Persian Gulf with another round of missile tests. The tests included the use of more long-range rockets capable of reaching Israel, as well as other devices with what state-controlled media referred to as "special capabilities," though no further details were provided.

If the missile tests were meant as a message to the West, Rice had words of her own for Tehran.

"We are also sending a message to Iran," Rice said, speaking from the former Soviet republic of Georgia. "We will defend American interests and the interests of our allies. . . . No one should be confused about that."

Does anyone reading this think that shooting off missiles in the Middle East is what we ought to be concerned with?

My cynicism is really working double time since the exchange reported yesterday, when the WaPo editorialistaz simply said they didn't consider it a flip-flop if the right wing does it.

There are no standards anymore. Lies from the right wing are news to the media, truth is not.

Glad I canceled my many years' subscription to the WaPo Weekly last year.

U.S. military is stretched too far in Iraq to be able to defend us or anyone else and this is the stupid and repulsive result of the cretin in chief's delusional policies.
