Meatball was named when she was a kitten for her butterball look which still fits her today. She would be ideal for a quiet adult home where she can be the only animal and get all the attention.

A non-profit La Grange Park cat rescue shelter is coping with the theft of about $1,300 in cash from a recent fundraiser.

"That could be a week's worth of food, litter and some vet bills," said Bobbi Meyer, director of Catnap from the Heart, 1101 Beach Avenue in La Grange Park.
The shelter had completed a garage sale held in the yard outside of its offices on June 20 when an envelope with an estimated $1,300 in cash and some checks were taken from the office.

The shelter has another garage sale planned for July 18, a used book sale for Aug. 15 and a dinner/dance in the fall.

The group can be contacted through catnapfromtheheart.org.
