Just More Kids Acting Up And Getting Themselves Abused

There are many awful things that the cabal has done to our justice, and a lot of it to the Department of 'Justice'. What they have done to troubled youths in Texas has been mindboggling. The many atrocities committed there have been reported to the Department of 'Justice' where they have been ignored because they would hurt the cretin in chief's buds if there were prosecution.

When the laws are subordinated to political exigencies, there is no longer a rule of law in this country.

Texas Ranger Brian Burzynski detailed abuses at the West Texas State School in a 229-page report and worked with the federal attorneys who ultimately dropped the case. Federal watchdogs discreetly collected information and discussed fine legal points as the assaults piled up. More than 2,000 allegations of staff abusing inmates were confirmed by the Texas Youth Commission from January 2003 to December 2006.

The Justice Department ultimately declined to prosecute anyone at TYC or do anything to compel agency-wide reforms.

Attorneys said they were constrained by narrowly drawn laws and insufficient evidence. But there was also a political climate at Justice that discouraged prosecution of official misconduct cases, former department attorneys said.

The lack of federal action against TYC left oversight to state officials who had looked the other way as administrators used threats of longer sentences or the promise of college assistance to have sex with young prisoners.

"There is no reason why a vigorous Department of Justice could not have gone in with a broom and cleaned up the TYC," said U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Houston Democrat. "They are just not interested, and that is a tragedy."

Needless to say, the kids in TYC are mostly not the privileged sons and daughters of the GoPervert contributors, and mostly are not going to be coddled like the Paris Hiltons of the war criminal set. They are not going to make trouble for their neglectors.

It's up to the public spirited to make that happen. We must get the criminals out of office.

But those kids, the ones that somehow survive the abuse, will grow up and make somebody pay. Dearly.

Amen shrimplate. This is beyond sad. This is dangerous. These children deserve better.

The reason the Department of Justice didn't go in there with a broom and clean it up was because there was no political capital to be reaped. Protecting "criminals"? Helping "those people"? Would that get them more votes from the GOP base? Hardly.

And yes, it is utterly disgusting that the Justice Department has been lowered to that point, where we all know that the considerations behind whether a particular investigation is begun, whether charges are pursued, are so nakedly partisan and political.
