Thursday Birdblogging

The Queltehue is a bird that I happened on in Chile, because it is very loud as well as because it is intriguing. Our driver in Casablanca, Osvaldo, identified it for me and told me that it is used by local gardeners who keep them in their gardens for guarding the veggies and vineyards. It makes an outcry when strangers invade and make off with the crops, so works for its keep. Or; "Perfecto centinela de día y de noche" (Perfect sentinel of day and night).
