I Missed This The First Time Around
I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't catch this story from the Washington Post last month. I tend not to read the Washington Post because it's editorial policy is so offensive, which really isn't fair to the Post's real journalists who do some fine investigative work. Fortunately, Switzerland's Blick didn't miss it. [Note: the translation of the article was done by Watching America.]
Tuna Hawaiian style, farfalle with turkey sausages or rosemary chicken: these great sounding dishes appeared on John McCain’s website with the claim that they were “family recipes.”
But because there’s nothing in a candidate’s life that can remain in the shadows during an election, internet users found out that the recipes were copied word for word from the Food Network website, the Washington Post reported. ...
The “Family Recipes” page of McCain’s website was immediately blocked. [Emphasis added]
Mr. Straight Talk got busted once again, and then the spin started: it was a rookie intern's fault, nothing to see here, move along.
Oh, and by the way, the source for the WaPo article? A blog. Huffington Post.
